If you see a message advising that your browser's cookie functionality is turned off, it's possible that your browser's cookies are not enabled. First-party cookies are cookies that are set by the site domain listed in the address bar. Third-party cookies come from other domain sources that have items, such as ads or images, embedded on the page. Depending on your browser, you can control which types of cookies you allow.
How to turn on your cookies
Chrome 32.0+ (we recommend upgrading to at least version 32)
- Select the Customize menu button (currently the 3 stripes button)
- Select the Settings menu.
- Select the Show advanced settings link.
- Under Privacy, select the Content Settings button.
- Under the Cookies section, select the Allow local data to be set (recommended) option.
Firefox 3.6+
- Select the Tools menu button (If the menus are hidden then select the Alt key to display/hide the menus).
- Select Options.
- Select the Privacy tab.
- Set Firefox will: to Use custom settings for history.
- Select the Accept cookies from sites checkbox.
- Select the OK button.
Internet Explorer 8.0+
- Select the Tools menu. (If the menus are hidden then select the Alt key to display/hide the menus).
- Select Internet Options.
- Select the Privacy tab.
- Select the Advanced button.
- Select Override automatic cookie handling and then select both Accept options, if these are enabled already.
- Select the OK button each time.
Opera 18.0+ (we recommend upgrading to at least version 18)
- Select the Opera button. (If the menus are hidden then select the Alt key to display/hide the menus).
- Select the Settings menu (keyboard shortcut CTRL+F12).
- Select the Privacy & Security sidebar menu.
- Under Cookies select Allow local data to be set (recommended).
Safari 5.1+
- Select the Safari menu.
- Select Preferences (keyboard shortcut CTRL+, ).
- Select the Privacy tab.
- Under Block Cookies select the From third parties and advertisers option.
Still seeing issues after turning cookies on?
If cookies are enabled and you are still seeing errors relating to your cookie functionality, try closing and re-opening your browser. Occasionally a browser's cookies will not work properly when you are using multiple tabs in a browser window. If this does not help, you can also clear your cache and delete your cookies.
